The Visual Shop Floor module is designed to provide an interactive, visual representation of a facility layout. It lets you virtually recreate your environment, within Insight, so you can visualize your plants production and layout. Instead of relying on Insight's data and forms for updates, you can see production happening in real time.
How It Works
Visual Shop Floor integrates with the data stored in Insight to produce a virtual working representation of your facility. Using existing data, you can create visual elements that accurately represent and align with your current system configuration.
Within the SVG, each workplace is represented as a Group Object with a unique ID, allowing the system to query and map work centers directly to their corresponding visual elements. This gives users a way to combine physical locations on the shop floor with live production data, represented in the visual layout.
Layout example:
Designing a layout
Using Design Elements, you can drag-and-drop virtual objects onto the layout in order to bring the layout to life. Each design element communicates directly with the data stored in Insight. By moving the objects across the design surface, you can create a functional representation of the work centers, warehouses, assets, and other key manufacturing elements that mirror real-world environments.
Using objects, modes, and templates
Visual shop floor Objects, Modes, and Templates are the building blocks of the design. They sit outside of the layout, connecting data points together so that the digital representation can become a functional layout. By connecting Insight's forms to their corresponding design elements, it gives you full control over how you create the visual layout.
Combining these digital tools together, through Insight's layout designer, you can recreate a virtual representation of your plant, and witness performance and output in real time.
