Defining a service order type

Defining a Service Order Type gives you a way to categorize Service Order Jobs by their operational functions. Categorizing them based on their type is an effective way to label the service order and how it is issued. Values can be set that define how they function within a workflow.

Once created, they can be chosen from a field within the Service Order Scheduling module, when scheduling a Service Order.

To define a Service Order Type:

  1. Navigate to the Service Order Types form.
  2. Select the Add button from the form header.
  3. Give it a Name and Description.
  4. From the dropdown, select the Initial Install Order Status Value.
  5. From the next dropdown, select the Initial Install Order Job Status Value.
  6. Define the description.
Note: This fields defines whether the service order is internally asset based or customer-based installation orders.
  7. Select Save.

Once the Service Order Type has been defined, you can now assign a job type by selecting the Job Types tab.
