The Warehouse Container Hierarchy frame lets you move individual warehouse containers to different locations within a manufacturing environment. These containers are dependent upon a fixed hierarchy of locations (the plant, the warehouse, the warehouse location, and zones).

Naming convention.
The naming convention facilitates the identification of inventory locations. Components are always presented from the top-down in the hierarchy, with each component separated by a period, in the following order:
[Plant].[Warehouse].[Location].[Warehouse Container]
Names (including plant, warehouse, warehouse type, and container type) can be alphanumeric. Rows and columns must be numeric.
For an item located in [Cary].[S].[A.1.3].[WHC1], the following is true:
- Plant = Cary
- Warehouse = S
- Location = Rack A, Column 1, Row 3
- Warehouse container = WHC1
If a warehouse and/or location is not defined, its place is still respected in the location path.
For an item located in [Cary]...[WHC96], the following is true:
- Plant = Cary plant
- Warehouse container = WHC96
To create a warehouse container:
- Scan or manually enter a warehouse container type. The prefix is WCT.
Note: This will create a new warehouse container of that type.
To select a warehouse container:
- Scan or manually enter a warehouse container code. The prefix is WHC.
To add or remove contents from the container:
- Scan or manually enter a warehouse container.
Note: As long as the container does not have an existing parent, it will become a child of the selected container. If the same container is scanned again, it will remove it and set its parent to either the default checkpoint location or the checkpoint plant. - Repeat scanning as often as desired.
To complete a warehouse container:
- Select the
icon to complete the container. This will execute any actions associated with the action cause WHCCOMP.
To delete a warehouse container.
- Scan or manually enter the warehouse container number.
- Select the
icon to delete the container.
Note: The container must not contain any child containers.
