Time tracking

The Time Tracking frame provides a method for recording actual labor and time at an operation or process for each employee or employee work group. This can help organizations better understand and track how labor time is allocated.

The following table identifies the processes and operations that are eligible for tracking:

IDDescription
PRJProject
ORDSales order
OLNSales order line
CONContainers
ICNItem containers
ORIOrder item numbers
EMPEmployee
SOJService order job

Functions:

FunctionDescription
ScanStarts the counter function.
F3 - Pause

Stops the counter function and logs the time.

Note: You might use this, for example, when you need to take a break during the middle of the operation.

F3 - ResumeReactivates the counter function after it has been paused.
F11 - Complete

Stops the counter function and processes the container scan.

Note: F11-Complete records the Actual cost of the operation.

Note: Closing the form while a scan is in progress stops the counter function.

To scan at the checkpoint:

  1. Scan a container. The system logs the start time.
  2. Scan the new container (the system logs a stop for the previous scan and a start for the new scan.)
Note: Alternatively, you can select pause, and the system will stop the counter and log the time. To resume, select resume.
  3. Select complete to end the time tracking process.

To scan an employee's time for a process:

  1. Scan the employee ID to log and begin time tracking.
  2. Scan the process ID to be tracked.
  3. Complete the tasks associated with the process.
Note: For each additional task, scan the new process ID and complete the task.
  4. When all tasks have been completed, scan the employee ID to log out and stop time tracking.
Note: View time tracking in the time tracking form. When time is tracked for an employee, charges reflect the employee's labor rate; otherwise, charges will reflect the general labor rate for the checkpoint or process.

To scan at a process:

  1. Scan the process ID to be tracked.
  2. Complete the tasks associated with the process.
  3. When all tasks have been completed, select F-11-Complete to stop time tracking.

To define costing values: Use the Costing tab of the Operations form to define the costing values for the work center.

To change the buffer size. The default number of rows in the scan history is 50. You can change the default in Checkpoints>Tabs tab>Settings field.

To review time tracking data: Review the labor and time tracking results in the Work Orders form>Routing Tab.
