The Custom Stored Procedure Scanning frame uses database procedures to take action when a scan takes place. The stored procedure performs a set of defined actions based on the scanned data and context of the operation. Because scans can be customized to meet different use cases, they provide versatility beyond purpose built scanning frames.
This type of custom scanning supports a collection of header fields and a detail section grid, the contents of which are customizable. It then uses the output of the scan procedure to satisfy parameters of the header and detail procedures. The information of the scan procedure persists until a new scan resets the values or the clear button is activated. Displaying the detail grid is optional.
With Custom SP Scanning, you can:
- Display customizable information.
- Create logic processing based on scanned content.
For example, scanning a container could load information about the container definition and its contents. Additional scans can then set the weight of the container.
