Configuring Insight Web

NOTE: This section describes only the essential properties needed to configure Insight for deployment of the Browser Client.

Create and configure a user account for the Insight Backend

  • In the Users form, create an Insight User for the domain account that will run the Insight Backend.
  • On the inResponse Console, create an inResponse User for this domain account. You do not need to assign Action Types to this user.

Create Web Users

  • Use the Organizations form to create an organization with the Classification Web User.
  • Complete the required fields in the Identification pane of the Web User tab.
  • In the Web Login pane, type the Login Name and Password that will serve as the log in credentials for the web application.

NOTES: The password must conform to the rules defined in the System Configuration > Browser App > Web User Password Check Regex field.
The default regular expression requires that the password contains at least 8 characters and should contain ASCII characters only.

  • Expand the Insight User list and select an existing Insight user that this Web user account will be mapped to. The Web user needs to be associated with an Insight user account to determine the Rights and Settings it should inherit.

NOTES: Cyncly recommends that you assign a Web user account in a one-to-one relationship with an Insight user account. If more than one Web user is associated with the same Insight user, changes to Settings and customizations could compete with each other.
For more information, see Setting Up Users in the System Administration chapter of the Insight Help files.

  • Optionally, assign a Profile Picture to the web user. Click the L within the Image pane and then navigate to and select the image file.

NOTE: When an image is selected, it is displayed in the web application. If no image is specified, the system generates an image based on the web user's initials.

  • To give the user access to the appropriate module(s), select the module in the Available pane and move it to the Selected pane.
  • ModuleDescription
IB.CAL.NFL Named Full User, gives the user full access to all Insight Web modules.
IB.CAL.NSFNamed Shop Floor User, gives the user access to the Insight Web Shop Floor Control module only.
Note: If the Web user does not have, at a minimum, permission to access the IB.CAL.NSF module, the list of available forms in the web client will be blank.
