Install a Hosting Service

  • Start the Inresponse Service Manager.
  • In the Service Type list, select Webservice host.

  • Click the Add button.
  • Complete the fields in the Install a new Inresponse Service dialog box, as described in the following table. 
FieldDescription
Service NameUnique name of the Inresponse service.
Note: Do not include spaces in Inresponse service names.
SQL ServerHost name of server or workstation where the Insight database resides.
DatabaseName of the Insight database.
UserDomain name and Windows user name of the user context for the service in the format DOMAINNAME\username
Note: The Windows user name used to install the Inresponse service must be part of the following Microsoft Windows local security setting policy: 
    Log on as a service
You can modify this setting for the user in Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Local Security Policy > User Rights Assignments > Log on as a service.
PasswordWindows password associated with the user name.
Default Log LevelThe type of service information to store in the text log file. Select one: Error, Info, Debug.
Restart TypeSpecify if and when the service restarts. Select one: Auto, Manual, Disabled.
Deployment DirectoryThe specific directory that contains the web service implementations to be hosted by the hosting service. 
Start NowIf selected, the service starts automatically after you complete this installation process.

The following example shows a completed Install a new Inresponse Service dialog box.

  • Click OK. A command shell window displays status messages as the system installs the service.

  • Press Enter. The Inresponse Service Manager displays the installed service.
