Run the SQL Upgrade Scripts

Step 1. Preparing for Upgrade: Lists the minimum requirements and upgrade information, and recommends that you backup all databases before continuing.

Step 2. Choose Databases: Lists the Insight SQL Server and Database to be upgraded and, if applicable, the 2020 Construct SQL Server and Database to upgrade. Provides an option to update the Archive database.

The system indicates correct database selections with a check mark, as shown in the following figure.

Step 3. Custom Pre-Upgrade: If the Status is Empty, click Next. If the Status is blank, click Run All to run the pre-upgrade scripts. The Status field tracks the update and displays the Pass or Fail status when the pre-upgrade is complete. 
The Message column indicates any errors from failed upgrades.

Step 4. Data Validation: Click Run All. The Status field tracks the validation and displays the Pass or Fail status when the data validation process is complete.

The Message column shows any validation error messages.

Step 5. Upgrade Databases: Click Run All. The Status field tracks the upgrade and displays the Pass or Fail status when the database upgrade is complete.

The Message column is populated with any errors from failed upgrades.

Step 6. Custom Post-Upgrade Scripts: If the Status is Empty, click Next. If the Status is blank, click Run All. The Status field tracks the upgrade and displays the Pass or Fail status when the scripts upgrade is complete.

The Message column indicates the number of failed upgrades.

Step 7. Update Translations: Select the language files to update from the grid and click Run Selected. 
The message column displays the names of the translation files that are updated and indicates when the update is Done, as shown in the following figure.

Upgrade complete: Click Finish to complete the upgrade.

NOTES: When using the Upgrade Wizard, any failure messages are recorded in the InsightUpgrade.log file.
