Client installation steps
- Download the installation media.
- From the Client Applications folder, run the setup.exe installation program.
- The installation program displays a list of prerequisites that are either not installed or are out of date. Click Install. If the prerequisites are not already installed, the Installation program prompts the user to install each missing prerequisite.
- In the Welcome dialog box, click Next.
- In the License Agreement dialog box, complete the following steps:
- Read and/or print the license agreement.
- Select I accept the terms in the license agreement.
- Click Next.
- In the Customer Information dialog box, select access options for users of this client and then click Next.
- In the License Server dialog box, enter the URL for the license server host and then click Next.
- In the Database Server dialog box, complete the following steps:
- Enter the name of the SQL database server for the Insight database.
- Select Windows authentication credentials of current user.
- Enter your Insight database name.
- Click Next.
NOTES: To install the default client configuration, follow the instructions in the Default installation steps. To customize the installation, follow the instructions in Custom installation steps.
Default installation steps
After completing the Client installation steps, continue with the default installation.
- In the Setup Type dialog box, select Default.
- Click Next.
NOTE: To complete the installation, follow the instructions in Complete the installation steps.
Custom installation steps
Reasons to customize the client installation:
- Install Insight features on the application workstation, such as Inresponse
- Install additional and/or non-standard clients, such as Insight SFA Client or Insight INQ Client
- Define installation options
After completing the Client installation steps, continue with the custom installation.
- In the Setup Type dialog box, select Custom.
- Click Next.
- Select the features that you want to install on the application workstation.
TIP: Click Change to change the location of the installation files.
- To specify setup options, click a feature's drop-down list, as shown in the following figure.
- Click Next.
NOTE: To complete the installation, follow the instructions in Complete the installation steps.
Complete the installation steps
- On the Ready to Install the Program page, click Install. InstallShield begins to install the client applications.
NOTE: Wait for the installation to complete.
- The Insight application icon appears on the desktop.
- In the InstallShield Wizard Completed dialog box, click Finish.
