A new system-setting has been introduced to suppress the standard Microsoft Windows feature called "Window Ghosting", where an application that is unresponsive for more than 5 seconds, e.g. due to heavy processing or loading large data sets from a database, is marked as "Not Responding" by the operating system.In this case, the system hides the window and replaces it with a ghost window (the content is faded) and may prompt the user to kill the application from the Task Manager.
Since this behavior can be concerning and unsettling for some users, it can now be disabled for the Insight process (other applications are not affected).Please note that some standard features provided by the "Window Ghosting" feature are not available then:
It is not possible to move or minimize the application window while the application is busy or unresponsive, and if the application is really frozen, it is not possible to close it by closing the window, only via the Task Manager.Setting: inSight.Global.DisableProcessWindowsGhosting629318
