To start and stop Inresponse services manually
- In Microsoft Windows, open Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services.
- Locate and select the Inresponse service name.
- To start the service, right-click and select Start from the menu; to stop the service, right-click and select Stop from the menu.
TIP: You can view information about the started service in the Inresponse Console.
To start and stop Inresponse services interactively
Use the Inresponse Service Manager to run Inresponse services interactively. This allows you to see the service operate in a command shell window. Also, you can see dialog boxes or forms that Inresponse DLLs generate. Interactive mode is useful for troubleshooting and debugging Inresponse issues and unexpected behavior.
If the service is already running, stop the service.
Start an Inresponse service interactively
- Log into the application workstation as the Inresponse user configured to run the service(s) that you want to start.
- Double-click the Inresponse Service Manager desktop icon.
The Inresponse Service Manager grid displays a list of all installed Inresponse services associated with this computer. - Select the Standard Service Type.
- Select the service that you want to start.
- Click the Run button.
If you try to start a service interactively that was installed under a different user name, a warning message appears.
This warning tells you the user name under which the service is installed and the user name under which it will run. If you click No in the Warning dialog box, the service does not start. If you want to run the service under the current user context, click Yes. The service runs and displays its processes in a command shell window.
Stop an Inresponse service running in interactive mode
- In the command shell window, press Ctrl+C to interrupt the service.
- When prompted, press the Enter key.
- The Inresponse Service Manager appears.
